The Location – Goms, Wallis, Switzerland
The Goms valley in the canton of Valais, Switzerland, is the home of Skatingcode. During the winter closure of the Nufenen, Grimsel, and Furka mountain passes, it lies like a cul-de-sac in the easternmost part of Valais. Surrounded by high mountains and situated at an altitude of around 1,400 meters above sea level, the valley enjoys exceptionally abundant snowfall and sunshine.
The cross-country ski trails on the high plateau are excellently groomed and offer kilometers of ideal conditions for technical training. From late November until well into March, conditions are often excellent.

The Goms consists of 12 villages — see the map below. When booking your accommodation, please make sure that it is located in one of these 12 villages. Even places that appear to be “nearby” may be on the other side of the mountains and may not be accessible in winter.
